Post-Game Interviews

Alex Best (King's Head Coach): "Yes. We are a three-point shooting team now. After the beginning of the season where we couldn't buy a bucket from out there, we are now a team that shoots from out there to win. Our C and PF are defensive players and PG, SG, and SF need to be able to shoot out there. It wins games."

Omri Casspi (King's Player Of The Game): "I don't think they took me seriously all game. Even though I was perfect from three, they never really guarded me well. I'm not complaining though. They were double-teaming Evans and leaving me wide open. Oh, and blocking Kobe was fun."

Jason Thompson (King's Starting PF): "I realized that I am more of a defensive need for the Kings. So instead of trying to score this game, I wanted rebounds and blocks. I think I did well."

Kings Continue Dominating. Kobe Flops With Lakers Loss

What a game in Sacramento. Kings dominated the Lakers early on, and even had around a 15 point lead. However, Lamar Odom and Steve Blake carried the Lakers back into the game, and began to shut them down in the fourth. After a contested three with only 20 seconds left, Steve Blake scored to bring the Lakers tied at 86. However, Jameer Nelson pump fakes Blake out and moves to a mid-range shot, scoring the two points needed to take the lead with only 3 seconds left. Lakers with no timeouts simply gave the ball to Kobe for a full court shot, missing to give Kings the win. Here's a recap!
  • Lakers not only took more shots, but they made more too. 40/67 compared to the Kings 33/59
  • Kings continue to be a three-point based team. 13/24 from outside with a combined 54% from three.
  • 27 assists for the Kings and only 19 for the Lakers.
  • Blocking show continues for three straight games. Kings get 7 to Lakers 3.
  • 62 points in the paint for the Lakers, only 18 for the Kings
  • 39 points from three for the Kings, and only 6 for the Lakers.
  • Jameer Nelson (PG) - Got his 4th or 5th double double with the Kings. 13 assists and 14 points. Even a steal to add.
  • Omri Casspi (SG) - Phenominal game. Probably the best the Kings have seen this season. 8-9 and a perfect 6-6 from deep. 22 points, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. BOTH BLOCKS WERE ON KOBE.
  • Tyreke Evans (SF) - Great game for Tyreke. 21 points, with 3 steals and 5-9 from deep.
  • Jason Thompson (PF) - A season-high 4 blocks with 6 rebounds. Great defensive game.
  • DeMarcus Cousins (C) - Another slump for Cousins. Only 3 rebounds and 2 steals, with a block.
  • Kobe Bryant - The Black Mamba doesn't show up for this game. 9-22 and a terrible 0-3 from deep. He couldn't get anything against Casspi or Evans. 19 points, 4 steals.
  • Lamar Odom was perfect until the very end, going 8-9 with 16 points off the bench.
  • Pau Gasol - Locks up a double-duble with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Lakers are now 9-6
Kings are now 10-8
